Wanted Redding Double Homicide Suspect Has Southern Oregon Ties

Redding, California- On Friday, October 4, 2024, at approximately 2:41 AM, the Redding Police Department responded to reports of gunfire and multiple victims near the intersection of Westside Road and Meadowbrook Drive in southwest Redding. Upon arrival, officers discovered two deceased adult male victims and several witnesses at the scene. According to reports, several vehicles, including the suspect vehicle, had fled prior to the officers’ arrival.

While investigating, police were informed that three additional gunshot victims—two women and one man—had arrived at a local hospital for treatment. Their injuries were non-life-threatening. Two of the victims were later released, while one woman remains hospitalized.

Redding Police detectives were immediately called to the scene to investigate further. Authorities have since identified 19-year-old Andrew Greer-Herrera of Lookout, California, as the primary suspect in the shooting. An arrest warrant for homicide has been issued, but his whereabouts remain unknown. Police have noted that Greer-Herrera may have ties to the Klamath Falls area.

A second suspect was also identified by authorities, and on Sunday, October 6, at 5:30 PM, Trevon Evanoff was arrested by the Sparks Police Department in Nevada. Evanoff is being held without bail in the Washoe County Jail on a charge of murder under California Penal Code 187. He is awaiting extradition to Shasta County.

Redding Police expressed gratitude to the community and law enforcement agencies for their assistance in apprehending Evanoff.

The search for Andrew Greer-Herrera is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information about his location to contact the Redding Police Department Detective Division at (530) 225-4214, or contact Shasta County Secret Witness at (530) 243-2319.

UPDATE: The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office announced that they have Andrew Greer-Herrera in custody. Redding Police are aware and the suspect will be transported back to Shasta County as the investigation continues.
