RCC Announces New Free Parking Spaces for Downtown Medford Riverside Campus

Medford, Oregon- Rogue Community College (RCC) has announced the addition of free parking spaces for students and employees at the Riverside Campus. The new spaces are located at the Bear Creek South/Almond Street parking lot, a result of a collaborative effort between RCC and the City of Medford to address ongoing parking challenges at the campus.

Parking availability at the Riverside Campus has been a significant concern for students, who have often had to rely on short-term parking, leading to rushed commutes or the need to pay for parking. These issues are unique to Riverside, as other RCC campuses offer ample free parking options.

“This new parking solution is a significant step forward for our Riverside Campus,” said RCC President Randy Weber. “By alleviating the parking burden, we’re creating a more accessible and supportive environment for our students and staff, which directly contributes to their success.”

The additional parking is part of a long-term arrangement between RCC and the City of Medford. The initiative aims to ease parking pressures, reduce costs for the campus community, and encourage students to spend more time on campus. The Almond Street parking spaces will be available starting on Monday, September 30, the first day of the fall term.

Parking is free for all RCC employees and students with an approved permit and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The lot includes approximately 50 spaces and is equipped with lighting for safety. Campus security will be available to escort students and staff between the lot and campus.
