Student Questioned After Threatening Statement at White Mountain Middle School

White City, Oregon- On Tuesday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to a threatening statement made by a student at White Mountain Middle School. The incident occurred in the morning, prompting immediate investigation by JCSO deputies.

According to the JCSO, deputies interviewed the juvenile suspect, along with multiple witnesses and the suspect’s family. Following the investigation, authorities determined there was no credible threat to the school. The Sheriff’s Office reported that no evidence indicated an actual plan or means to carry out the threat.

As a precautionary measure, the student was sent home, and the Eagle Point School District 9 Disciplinary Team is currently reviewing the situation to decide on appropriate disciplinary actions.

In response to the incident, JCSO increased its presence at the school throughout the day. Deputies were stationed on site to assist with security and provide reassurance to parents and students.
