Rogue Community College Dental Hygiene Program Now Accepting Applications

White City, Oregon- Rogue Community College (RCC) has officially received accreditation for its new Dental Hygiene program from the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). The program, which offers a two-year associate degree, is now open for applications. The accreditation was granted following an extensive review process, which included a detailed application submission and a two-day site visit by CODA officials.

The new Dental Hygiene program at RCC is closely integrated with the college’s existing Dental Assistant certificate program. As part of the accreditation, six courses from the Dental Assistant program will now be transferable to the Dental Hygiene program, facilitating a smooth transition for students interested in advancing their careers in dental care.

Applications for the fall intake of the Dental Hygiene program opened on August 19 and will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, August 26. If the program does not reach full capacity by this deadline, the application window will be extended until all available spots are filled. Prospective students must complete all prerequisite and preparatory coursework before being considered for admission. Applications will be evaluated for completeness and eligibility after the initial deadline.

Carmen Mons, RCC’s Dental Programs Director, expressed enthusiasm for the new program. “We’re excited to offer this new opportunity for students in Southern Oregon. This accreditation affirms the quality of education RCC provides and allows us to meet the growing demand for skilled dental professionals,” said Mons.
