Josephine County, Oregon- A single-vehicle accident occurred yesterday, on Lower Grave Creek Road resulted in the death of 60-year-old Joseph John Tracey, according to a report from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 4:07 PM on July 9, 2024, Sergeant Craig Ricker received notification of a motor vehicle crash in the 4000 block of Lower Grave Creek Road. Upon arrival, law enforcement found that the driver, had already been pronounced deceased by medical personnel.
Initial evidence suggested that the vehicle, a red 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was traveling northbound on Lower Grave Creek Road. It appeared that the driver failed to negotiate a curve, leading to the fatal crash.
The next of kin have been informed of the tragic loss. Several agencies responded to assist at the scene, including the Rural Metro Fire District, American Medical Response, Oregon State Police, and Three Boys Towing.
The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
