Grants Pass, Oregon– Motorists traveling on Interstate 5 southbound near milepost 55 should prepare for significant delays following a collision involving two large trucks. The incident has resulted in the closure of one lane just south of Exit 55, causing considerable traffic congestion in the area.
Although the interstate remains open, the reduction to a single lane is creating a bottleneck, with traffic backing up for several miles. Authorities are urging drivers to expect delays and, if possible, to consider using alternate routes to avoid the affected stretch of the highway.
In addition to the lane closure, crews are actively working on the scene. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution and to watch for workers in the roadway to ensure their safety and the safety of the personnel handling the incident.
Updates on the situation will be provided as more information becomes available.
