Power Outage in N. Central Point Impacting 1500+

Central Point, Oregon- A power outage in the Central Point area of Jackson County has resulted in traffic signal failures, prompting authorities to advise caution and patience from motorists. 

With signals rendered dark, drivers are reminded to treat intersections as four-way stops until power is restored. 

The outage, affecting approximately 1600 customers as of noon, has led to potential delays in the affected regions. The outage was first reported shortly before 11:30 this morning.

Authorities urge residents to exercise caution and adhere to traffic safety guidelines until normal operations resume.

Pacific Power has crews on scene investigating the outage. Estimated time for full service restoration is before 3:00p today.

The cause of the outage is listed as a “damaged line” according to Pacific Power.

Medford Alert will continue to monitor this incident and provide updates as they become available.


3:00p UPDATE: The previous service outage has been mostly restored . However, approximately 970 Pacific Power customers are without power in the Four Corners area. At this time, there is no estimated time for service restoration.


5:00p UPDATE: Service has been restored to affected customers, according to Pacific Power.
