28-Year Old Man Dies in Josephine County Crash

Josephine County, Oregon- On Monday, June 3, 2024, at 7:08 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Hwy 199, near milepost 16, in Josephine County.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a northbound Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Brandon Richard Cain (28) of Grants Pass, failed to negotiate a curve, veered off the roadway, and collided with a tree on the southbound shoulder.

Tragically, the operator of the Dodge, Brandon Richard Cain, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officials said the highway remained unaffected during the on-scene investigation. Speed is believed to be the primary factor contributing to the crash.

Oregon State Police received assistance from Rural Metro Fire, Illinois Valley Fire, and ODOT during the response and investigation process.
