Iconic Downtown Medford Restaurant, Porters, to Close After Decades of Service

Downtown Medford, Oregon- Porters, an iconic establishment in Downtown Medford for decades, is bidding farewell after over 20 years of operation. The restaurant has been a cornerstone of the Front Street corridor, serving thousands of guests, hosting numerous parties and celebrations, and even serving as a filming location for the 2013 Hollywood motion picture “Night Moves.”

Tonight marks the final service at this historic depot. An employee, who requested anonymity, confirmed that the restaurant is closing due to the owner’s retirement. This closure marks the end of an era for a venue that has played a significant role in the local downtown social and cultural scene.

The building housing Porters underwent a full remodel in late 90’s, bringing the historic downtown Medford train station up to modern standards while participating in the National Historic Landmark Program. The future of this landmark train station, which has been home to Porters, remains uncertain.

Medford Alert has reached out to the owners for further details and information regarding the closure and the future of the building. We are currently awaiting a response and will provide updates as soon as new information becomes available.
