Wolf Creek, Oregon- Douglas County authorities apprehended 35-year-old Richard Goodin of Wolf Creek, Oregon, on Thursday afternoon following reports of a kidnapping incident.
The ordeal unfolded shortly after 1:00 pm when 9-1-1 dispatchers received a distress call from a concerned male, reporting that his mother had been abducted against her will. Remarkably, the victim managed to convey crucial information to her son, who then relayed it to law enforcement officers.
Deputies initiated an investigation, discovering that the suspect, Richard Goodin, was traveling in a 2006 Chevy Silverado pickup, which had been reported stolen earlier in the day. The situation escalated when it was revealed that Goodin was not only in possession of a stolen vehicle but also unlawfully carrying methamphetamine.
Despite the circumstances, the victim seized an opportunity to escape and immediately dialed 9-1-1, providing authorities with an approximate location. Deputies then converged on the area, successfully locating and apprehending Goodin without further incident.
Following his arrest, Goodin was booked into the Douglas County Jail on multiple charges, including:
- Kidnapping in the Second Degree
- Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
- Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle
- Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine – Violation Level
The victim was later safely reunited with her family. Authorities urge anyone with additional information related to this incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
