Klamath County Highway Crash Kills Dallas Man

Klamath County, Oregon– On Monday, March 11, 2024, Oregon State Police responded to a fatal two-vehicle crash near milepost 68 on Highway 58, at approximately 7:50 p.m. The crash took place in Klamath County.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a Kenworth commercial motor vehicle (CMV) and trailer, operated by Malkit Singh (28) of Liberty Lake, Washington, was traveling eastbound when the trailer slid into the westbound travel lane. Tragically, a westbound Toyota Tacoma, driven by Michael Edward Davis (57) of Dallas, was unable to avoid colliding with the CMV trailer.

Singh, the operator of the Kenworth, sustained minor injuries in the collision. However, Davis, the driver of the Toyota, was declared deceased at the scene. His passenger, Kelly Jo Davis (53) of Dallas, suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The aftermath of the crash caused a significant impact on traffic, with the highway being closed for approximately seven hours during the on-scene investigation. Oregon State Police were assisted by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) in managing the situation and conducting necessary procedures.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine its cause and prevent similar incidents in the future.
