Cave Junction, Oregon – On Thursday, March 7, emergency response units rushed to the scene of a single aircraft accident in Cave Junction. The Illinois Valley Fire District, AMR-Josephine County, Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, and Josephine County Airport Personnel mobilized in response to the distress call at 11:25am.
Authorities say the crash resulted in one fatality. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time.
Investigators have announced that no images from the scene will be shared as investigations are underway.
Josephine County Sheriff, in collaboration with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), will spearhead the investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
