WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM MONDAY TO 4 PM TUESDAY ABOVE 3000 FEET
- WHAT…For the Winter Weather Advisory above 1500 feet, snow. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches. For the Winter Storm Warning above 3000 feet, heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 12 inches.
- WHERE…The Winter Weather Advisory includes portions of Jackson County above 1500 feet, including highways 140, 238, 62 and Interstate 5 south of Ashland, and the Tiller-Trail Highway as well as the communities of Butte Falls, Prospect, and Trail. The Winter Storm Warning includes areas above 3000 feet, including portions of highway 140, 62, the Tiller-Trail Highway, and Dead Indian Memorial Road.
- WHEN…For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 10 AM Monday. For the Winter Storm Warning, from 10 AM Monday to 4 PM Tuesday.
- IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
- PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…Travel is strongly discouraged because of dangerous conditions. Do not detour during winter storms.
- If you must travel, keep tire chains, a flashlight, blankets, food, water, medications, and a fully charged phone with you.
- The safest place during a winter storm is indoors.
- A Winter Storm Warning means that severe winter weather is imminent and poses a threat to life and property. Take protective action now.
