Medford, Oregon- For the ongoing Foothill Road project (Mega-Corridor), a road section from Cedar Links Drive to the McAndrews Road Westbound ramp is set to close starting Monday, January 29. The closure is slated to continue until Summer 2024, facilitating extensive reconstruction and expansion of the roadway.
Contractors will be working to rebuild and widen Foothill Road, contributing to the $62 million project. This initiative, backed by a $15 million Federal Build Grant awarded to Medford, aims to enhance Foothill Road’s infrastructure from Delta Waters Road to Hillcrest Road.
For the duration of the closure, detours have been established to guide commuters efficiently. Motorists are encouraged to use Cedar Links Drive, Springbrook Road, and East McAndrews Road as alternative routes. Local access will be maintained from Cedar Links Drive, ensuring continued convenience for residents and businesses in the vicinity.
There will be continued access to Normil Terrace residents. Those residing in this area can enter their homes at all times through Cedar Links Drive, minimizing disruption during the construction phase.
Upon completion at the close of 2026, the revamped Foothill Road will boast two lanes in each direction, inclusive of turn lanes, sidewalks, bike lanes, and street lighting. This transformation aligns with the broader vision of enhancing connectivity and safety along this crucial corridor.
