Eagle Point, Oregon– Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies successfully apprehended four juveniles in the early hours of Wednesday morning following a pursuit that ended in a crash just outside Eagle Point.

At 1:29 a.m., a JCSO deputy witnessed a group of individuals, carrying a case of alcoholic beverages, sprinting from the White City 7-11 market to a green 2004 Toyota 4Runner. The situation escalated as the vehicle eluded attempts by deputies to bring it to a halt.

The pursuit unfolded until 1:40 a.m., when the stolen Toyota 4Runner crashed near the intersection of Agate Road and Old Highway 234 in rural Eagle Point. Subsequently, the suspects, revealed to be three passengers and a female driver, all juveniles from Klamath Falls, were detained. Notably, one of them had been reported as a runaway.

Upon closer investigation, JCSO deputies discovered that the juveniles had initially stolen a red 2017 Jeep Renegade in Klamath Falls and ventured to the Medford area. The suspects admitted to breaking into multiple vehicles in the Central Point and White City areas. The stolen Jeep Renegade was abandoned near the intersection of Annalise and Cleo Streets in Central Point, and they stole the Toyota 4Runner involved in the elude.

The female driver now faces a range of charges, including fourth-degree assault, attempting to elude by vehicle, reckless driving, three counts of reckless endangering, and criminal mischief. A full investigation will be conducted regarding potential additional charges related to the unlawful use of a motor vehicle and theft.

The remaining juveniles were handed over to parental guardians. Officials say the case remains open as investigations continue into the activities involving the stolen vehicles and break-ins.
