Central Point, Oregon- In a surprising turn of events, the Jackson County Expo has officially declared the cancellation of the much-anticipated Rogue Music Festival scheduled for 2024. The announcement came this afternoon with a statement from the Expo, expressing their decision after careful consideration.
“After careful consideration, we will not be holding the Rogue Music Fest in 2024. Please enjoy the many concerts this year at the Expo!” the statement read.
The inaugural Rogue Music Festival in 2023 was seemingly an initial success, drawing crowds of over 15,000, with performances from renowned artists like Carrie Underwood and Eric Church. However, since then, the Expo and Jackson County Fair Board have experienced a series of personnel changes, notably marked by the retirement of the longstanding Expo director, Helen Baker.
In the aftermath of Baker’s retirement, the Expo has faced challenges in finding a suitable successor. The position is currently being managed by an interim director following an unsuccessful attempt to fill the vacancy.
Medford Alert has sought additional information regarding the cancellation and is currently awaiting an official response.
