


Jackson County, Oregon- The Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team is actively investigating a suspected DUII traffic crash that unfolded this afternoon near mile marker 14 on Butte Falls Highway.
At approximately 12:09 p.m., a collision between two passenger trucks resulted in a head-on impact, causing both vehicles to roll.
Tragically, a woman from one of the trucks was ejected during the collision and is currently in serious condition at a Medford area hospital. A man from the other truck sustained minor injuries and has been transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
The STAR Team, comprising investigators from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Medford Police Department, and Central Point Police Department, has taken charge of the investigation to ascertain the root cause of the crash. Preliminary findings suggest that impairment may have played a role in this unfortunate incident.
As a consequence of the ongoing investigation, Butte Falls Highway is currently restricted to one lane at the accident site. Jackson County Roads is overseeing traffic control, and it is anticipated that the highway will return to normalcy in approximately one hour (5:00p).
This case remains under thorough investigation, and at this time, no further information is available for release. The collaborative efforts of the STAR Team underscore the commitment of law enforcement agencies to ensure a comprehensive examination of the circumstances surrounding this serious traffic accident.
