
Medford, Oregon- At approximately 1:10 PM today, emergency responders from the Medford Fire Department (MFD), Medford Police (MPD), and Mercy Flights responded to a multi-vehicle crash on southbound I5, occurring on the Medford Viaduct near Mile 29.
Reports indicate that the incident was triggered when a disabled vehicle was struck, leading to a chain reaction involving approximately five cars. Ten minutes later, a secondary crash involving three more vehicles occurred to the north of the initial collision.
As of now, there are only believed to be minor injuries resulting from these incidents. However, the aftermath has led to significant traffic congestion in the area. Authorities advise motorists to avoid southbound I5 between Exits 30 and 27 until further notice.
Emergency services are actively managing the situation, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and patience while navigating the affected stretch of the interstate.
