Medford, Oregon– The City of Medford celebrated a momentous occasion earlier today as it hosted the grand opening of the long-anticipated Rogue Credit Union Community Complex, also known as “Rogue X.” The $76 million, 140,000-square foot facility is the sum of collaborative efforts of City staff, elected officials, architects, construction teams, community leaders, and the Medford voters who rallied behind the concept in May 2020.
Under the ownership, maintenance, and management of the City of Medford, Rogue X boasts an array of new amenities. The centerpiece is a 76,000-square foot multi-purpose event center that will host a diverse range of activities, from sports events to community gatherings. The building holds 16 volleyball courts or eight full size basketball courts. The indoor recreation pool, featuring two exhilarating water slides and a 13-lane competition pool, adds a splash of excitement. The complex also includes classrooms, an outdoor seasonal splashpad, and a food truck pod to cater to various interests.
Situated in the heart of Howard Memorial Sports Park along Rossanley Drive and Ross Lane in northwest Medford, Rogue X is part of a larger 54-acre community park that, upon completion, will feature multiple sports fields and a playground.
The vision of consolidating an event center and an aquatics facility under a single roof received unanimous City Council approval in 2018, with financing securing the green light in 2020. Construction commenced in late 2023, culminating in the public eagerly anticipating the facility’s opening in January 2024.
Rogue Credit Union, a key partner in this endeavor, sealed a 10-year, $2.145 million facility naming-rights agreement. Beyond the branding benefits, the proceeds from this agreement will play a crucial role in offsetting operational costs and funding water safety classes for all fourth-graders in the Medford School District.

Medford City Councilor Kevin Stine expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This morning we cut the ribbon to open the Rogue X, and soon after we had basketball and volleyball games, along with people having a great time using the slides and pool. This all-ages facility is an example of why people like me get into public service. This provides for the community in so many ways and is an exciting asset to have in Medford. This is a great day for Medford.”
Today’s Rogue Credit Union Community Complex’s special grand opening event sold out prior to opening. Signaling strong community support already in place for the massive complex.
