Chuck E Cheese Set to Make a Comeback in Medford After Nearly Four Decades

Medford, Oregon- Chuck E Cheese, a family- focused entertainment venue, is set to make a return to Medford after an absence of almost 40 years. In the mid-1980s, the company faced financial challenges, leading to the closure of several locations, including the one located at Poplar Square in north Medford. Now, the company is gearing up to re-establish its presence in the Rogue Valley.

The new Chuck E Cheese location is slated to open its doors in the Winco Plaza, situated off E. Barnett Rd in south Medford. The space, formerly occupied by a bookstore and Payless Shoes, will be transformed into the company’s hub for family fun.

Craig Peterson, the Director of Property Management at Winco Plaza, expressed his enthusiasm for the development. He shared the following statement with Medford Alert, “We are very excited to welcome Chuck E. Cheese at WinCo Plaza! We love to support the local community in creating a fun and safe space for families in Medford.”

According to Peterson, the target date for the grand opening is set for Summer 2024. Developers remark that the Winco Plaza location aims to provide a wholesome environment for children and parents alike.

As of now, the nearest Chuck E Cheese venue is located in Redding, California.

Medford Alert reached out to Chuck E Cheese’s parent company, CEC Entertainment, for additional insights, but as of now, no response has been received.

Medford Alert is committed to keeping the community informed, and we will monitor and update this article as new information about Chuck E Cheese’s return to Medford becomes available.
