Bend, Oregon – In a recent operation targeting adults attempting to exploit minors through social media and online platforms, Bend Police arrested 26-year-old resident Hunter James Nash on a number of charges.
The investigation unfolded on Monday, Nov. 27, when Bend Police initiated efforts to identify individuals attempting to lure minors for sexual encounters online. Operating undercover, an officer, posing as a 16-year-old girl on a social media platform, was contacted by Nash. Subsequently, explicit photos were exchanged, along with Nash offering to provide alcohol, condoms, and psilocybin mushrooms for the anticipated meeting.
On the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 28, a rendezvous was arranged between the undercover officer and Nash at Ponderosa Skate Park on SE Wilson Avenue. Law enforcement officers intervened upon Nash’s arrival at the park, taking him into custody. A search of Nash’s vehicle yielded condoms and a 12-pack of White Claw, while a subsequent search of his residence uncovered 28.51 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.
Nash was arrested and transported to the Deschutes County Jail. The charges against him include Attempted Furnishing Liquor to A Minor, Possession of a Controlled Schedule I Substance, Attempted Delivery of a Schedule I Substance to a Minor (psilocybin mushrooms), Luring a Minor for Sexual Conduct, second-degree Online Sexual Corruption of a Child, attempted third-degree Sex Abuse, and Endangering a Minor’s Welfare.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
