Heroic 16-Year-Old Saves Lives in Central Point Intersection Emergency

In a remarkable display of courage and quick thinking, a 16-year-old named Tayen became a hero yesterday at a busy intersection in Central Point. At approximately 3:14 p.m., a routine drive took a harrowing turn when Tayen’s grandmother, behind the wheel with him as a passenger, experienced a sudden medical emergency.

Facing a crisis with the car accelerating and his unconscious grandmother beside him, Tayen instinctively took charge. He pressed his foot on the brake and skillfully steered the vehicle away from oncoming traffic at the intersection of Biddle Road and Table Rock Road. His split-second decision not only averted a potential disaster but also safeguarded the lives of other motorists sharing the busy intersection .

Following this maneuver, Tayen didn’t hesitate to initiate life-saving measures. He began performing CPR on his grandmother while simultaneously signaling for help. Passersby, alerted by Tayen’s actions, stopped to assist and promptly called 911, ensuring swift professional medical attention.

The heroic teenager’s actions did not go unnoticed by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Responding deputies commended Tayen’s remarkable composure and decisive actions under intense pressure. In recognition of his bravery, Tayen was presented with a challenge coin by the Sheriff’s Office deputy on the scene.

Despite the situation, Tayen’s focus remained on his grandmother’s well-being. Thanks to his rapid response and the collaborative efforts of those who came to their aid, Tayen’s grandmother is currently recovering in stable condition at a local hospital.
