Today, Ashland High School was alerted to a potential threat, adding to the heightened state of concern as regional schools and public agencies grapple with an increase in similar incidents over the past week. Authorities note that many of these threats are often deemed non-credible, attributed to pranks or hoaxes.
Taking the safety of its students and staff seriously, Ashland High School collaborated with law enforcement to assess the situation. In response, the school initiated a SECURE status, ensuring the security of the physical facility to safeguard everyone on campus. Law enforcement remained present throughout this precautionary measure, emphasizing their commitment to the community’s safety.
The SECURE status at Ashland High School was implemented from 2:10 p.m. to 2:40 p.m. During this time, all students and staff were brought inside the building, and exterior doors were securely locked. This protocol allows classes to continue without interruption, maintaining a controlled environment while authorities evaluate the nature of the potential threat.
Law enforcement presence will remain on campus to reassure the community and ensure ongoing safety measures. As the investigations unfolds, Ashland High School officials remark they remain vigilant and committed to responding to any potential risks, prioritizing the well-being of its students and staff.
