Earlier this morning, Phoenix High School (PHS) was abuzz with activity as dozens of runners, along with their friends and families, gathered for the Southern Oregon Runners (SO Runners) annual Pioneer Run. The event featured a challenging 9-mile and 5k course that wound its way through the picturesque hillsides south of PHS.
Despite the chilly 40-degree temperatures, the enthusiasm of the participants remained high. Runners, both young and old, braved the cold and damp conditions with smiles on their faces as they embarked on the scenic journey through the Southern Oregon landscape.
The camaraderie among the participants added an extra layer of warmth to the event, creating a sense of community and shared accomplishment.



The runners crossed the finish line at PHS, completing their respective courses with a snacks awaiting them to refuel. The event not only showcased the dedication of the participants and organizers, but also highlighted the beauty of the local surroundings, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
The annual Pioneer Run organized by SO Runners continues to be a popular community tradition, fostering a spirit of fitness, unity, and appreciation for the stunning landscapes that Southern Oregon has to offer.
