Quick Acting Employees Help Extinguish Fire at South Medford Business

Yesterday morning, the Medford Fire Department (MFD) responded to a commercial fire alarm at Smokin’ Deals Custom Glass located at 1246 S. Riverside Ave. The initial unit on the scene reported finding moderate smoke emanating from the front door.

In response to the situation, additional resources were dispatched to provide support. Upon closer examination, it was revealed that employees had already discovered and mostly extinguished a fire that had broken out in a rear section of the shop.

MFD personnel assessed the structure for any potential fire extension, and helped in clearing smoke from the premises. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among civilians or fire personnel as a result of this incident.

As investigations into the cause of the fire are underway, the Medford Fire Department commends the quick actions of the employees at Smokin’ Deals Custom Glass for their prompt response, preventing the escalation of the situation.
