At approximately 4:30 a.m. on October 21, 2023, the Portland Police officers received responded to a crash at the intersection of Southwest Naito Parkway and Southwest Morrison Street. Upon their arrival, officers and emergency medical services (EMS) discovered an individual, believed to be an adult male, lying on street, near the ramp connecting to the Morrison Bridge. Tragically, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved in the incident fled the scene and has not yet been located. As of now, law enforcement has not released any description of the driver or the suspect vehicle involved in the hit and run.
The Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team is currently investigating incident.
Authorities are urging anyone with information pertaining to this crash to come forward. This is the 52nd traffic-related fatality this year in Portland, and the 3rd in the last week.
