Arrest Made After Roseburg Man is Shot to Death

Detectives are currently investigating a homicide that unfolded late Monday night in the Green District near Roseburg. The incident took place on Monday, October 16, 2023, shortly after 11:00 p.m. when 9-1-1 dispatchers received the report.

The 911 call led authorities to the 100-block of Speedway Road, where they discovered a male victim in a driveway, appearing to be lifeless due to a gunshot wound. The victim was later identified as 24-year-old Ronnie Keith James Crabtree, a resident of Roseburg.

As the investigation progressed, crucial evidence came to light, which led to the arrest of 24-year-old Jacob Taylor Robinson, a resident of Winston. Robinson has been incarcerated at the Douglas County Jail on charges of Second Degree Murder and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Thankfully, there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The ongoing investigation is being spearheaded by the Douglas County Major Crimes Team, a collaborative effort comprising personnel from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Roseburg Police Department, and Oregon State Police, with the guidance of the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.


All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
