Motorcycle vs Vehicle Crash Claims Life of 37-Year-Old Roseburg Man

On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 10:31 A.M., authorities reported a collision occurred on Hwy-42, near milepost 75, in Douglas County. The Oregon State Police responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle crash that left one individual dead.

The preliminary investigation unveiled that a Jeep Cherokee, driven by Peggy Long (52) of Winston, was stationary at a stop sign on Landers Ave. Long then turned eastbound onto Hwy-42, intersecting the path of a westbound Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Dustin Kirk Carroll (37) of Roseburg. The collision occurred in the slow lane as the motorcycle struck the side of the Jeep, forcibly ejecting Carroll from the Harley.

Carroll was declared deceased at the scene. Peggy Long, the operator of the Jeep, emerged from the incident without injury.

The highway remained unaffected during the on-scene investigation. OSP says that the investigation is ongoing at this time. No additional information is available currently.
