Oregon Arts Commission Awards $80,000 to Support Rogue Valley Arts

In a significant boost to Oregon’s arts community, the Oregon Arts Commission has announced that it will distribute a total of $1,382,696 to 171 arts organizations across the state through its Operating Support Program for fiscal year 2024. These unrestricted awards, ranging from $3,000 to $25,000, will provide essential funding to nonprofit organizations dedicated to promoting the arts.

To qualify for these grants, organizations must have arts at the core of their mission and maintain budgets exceeding $150,000. The awards will be allocated based on the number of applications received and the availability of grant funds.

Operating support grants are invaluable to these organizations as they offer the flexibility to use funds according to their specific needs, ensuring the sustainability of their artistic programs. Subashini Ganesan-Forbes, Chair of the Arts Commission, emphasized the significance of these grants, stating, “Operating support is crucial to organizations as these funds can be used at their discretion to sustain artistic programming.”

Furthermore, these grants carry a symbolic importance within the Oregon arts ecosystem. Grant recipients and their peers view them as a testament to the Arts Commission’s trust in their vision, capacity, and contributions to the thriving arts scene in Oregon.

This generous funding will undoubtedly bolster Oregon’s arts organizations, enabling them to continue their valuable work in enriching the cultural landscape of the state. The Oregon Arts Commission’s commitment to supporting the arts is a testament to the vital role that the arts play in our communities.
