Due to unforeseen construction delays, the City of Medford announced the ongoing detour at the intersection of South Oakdale Avenue and West Main Street will remain in place until Friday, October 6, 2023.
The delay is a result of Public Works crews working to upgrade the storm system in the area, ensuring improved infrastructure for the future. This upgrade is essential to enhance drainage capabilities and overall road quality.
However, there is some good news for local commuters. Public Works crews have announced that they will open a single lane at the South Oakdale Avenue and West Main Street intersection for drivers over the upcoming weekend, from September 30 to October 1, 2023. This temporary relief will help alleviate some of the traffic congestion caused by the detour.
In the meantime, drivers are encouraged to follow the established detour route. Motorists can access West Main Street by proceeding down South Oakdale Avenue and then making a left turn onto West 6th Street.
