Northgate Marketplace, located in northwest Medford, is expected to welcome a new tenant to its bustling retail scene. Sourdough & Co, a California-based restaurant chain, is set to occupy a vacant space between Yogurt Hut and Shinsei Sushi, just west of Trader Joe’s.
The approximately 1,200 square-foot location was previously home to a Subway restaurant that closed its doors a few years ago. Now, foodies can look forward to the offerings of Sourdough & Co as it expands its footprint beyond California.
Sourdough & Co boasts a robust presence in California, with over sixty locations currently in operation throughout the state. The restaurant specializes in an array of sandwiches, soups, and salads, all centered around sourdough. Additionally, catering services are available at most locations.
Sourdough & Co places an emphasis on the health benefits of sourdough bread. According to their website, sourdough bread contains higher levels of folate and antioxidants compared to other bread types. Its lower phytate levels also facilitate the easier absorption of nutrients by the body.
As for when the new Sourdough & Co location in Northgate Marketplace will open its doors to the public, there is currently no estimated timetable available.
