Asphalt Work to Impact N. Phoenix Road Traffic

Jackson County Roads has scheduled asphalt work on North Phoenix Road in southeast Medford, to enhance road quality and safety. The maintenance project will span from E. Barnett Road south toward Phoenix and is set to begin on Monday, September 11, running through Friday, September 15.

During this period, motorists are strongly encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and steer clear of the work area between the hours of 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM each day. To minimize traffic congestion and ensure the safety of both drivers and workers, alternative routes should be considered.

This comprehensive asphalt maintenance operation will encompass several crucial tasks, including crack sealing, blade patching, grind and inlays, and culminate in a final chip seal process toward the end of the week. The primary focus of this project will be the segment between Barnett Road and Coal Mine Road, with chip sealing extending along the entire length of the project.

Jackson County Roads emphasizes the importance of prioritizing safety during this period. Motorists are urged to reduce their speed and adhere to all traffic control signs and directives provided by road workers. Taking a cue from the ongoing “Mega-Corridor” corridor project, if possible, opting for alternate routes that bypass the construction area is advised. Anticipate potential delays of up to 20 minutes as essential maintenance work is completed in preparation for the upcoming winter season.
