Pedestrian Dies After Collision with Truck in White City

At approximately 11:20p on Wednesday, the Oregon State Police (OSP) responded a reported vehicle vs pedestrian crash on OR62 in the White City area. Preliminary findings from the investigation reveal that a Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Ronald Miller (63) of Eagle Point, was traveling eastbound when it collided with a pedestrian, identified as Joshua Branca (48) from Manhattan Beach, California. Branca had entered the eastbound lane of travel when the collision occurred.

Medical personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced Joshua Branca deceased. The operator of the Dodge Ram 1500, Ronald Miller, was not injured during the incident.

The aftermath of the collision led to the closure of OR62 for approximately 3 hours as authorities conducted their on-scene investigation. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Oregon State Police.

In their efforts to manage the situation and conduct the investigation, OSP received assistance from various agencies, including the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle Point Police Department, Fire District 3, and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).
