Death of Bend Woman Deemed Suspicious By Police

Bend Police are currently investigating the suspicious death of a 51-year-old woman identified as Jeri Lynn Davies, a resident of Bend. The incident took place at the intersection of NE Second Street and DeKalb Avenue in the early morning hours of Monday, Aug. 28.

Authorities responded to calls around 6:36 a.m. reporting a woman lying in the street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Jeri Lynn Davies with multiple injuries. Witnesses at the scene informed law enforcement that Davies was a familiar presence in the area.

The victim was then transported to St. Charles Bend for additional medical attention. Authorities say at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away.

Bend Police have classified Davies’ death as suspicious and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The stretch of NE Second Street between DeKalb and Emerson Avenues was temporarily closed for several hours during the initial investigation, but has since been reopened to the public.


UPDATE: The City of Bend Police Department has completed its investigation into Jeri Lynn Davies’ death. The cause and manner of death is pending a final report from the state Medical Examiner’s Office. At this time, Bend Police believe there is no criminal wrongdoing associated with Davies’ death
