Man Fatally Shot in Downtown Bend – Suspect at Large

In the early hours of Thursday, August 10, Bend Police responded to a distressing report of a shooting incident in downtown Bend. Just after midnight, officers were called to the 1000 block of NW Wall Street, where they discovered a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

Officers sprang into action, providing immediate aid to the injured individual. The wounded man was then transported via ambulance to St. Charles Bend, a local medical facility. Despite the coordinated efforts of medical professionals, the man succumbed to his injuries and lost his life.

Authorities have launched a search for the suspect responsible for this violent act. As of now, the shooter remains at large, prompting heightened vigilance throughout the community.

In response to the incident, Wall Street, a key thoroughfare in downtown Bend, saw closures between Greenwood and Oregon avenues, alongside Oregon Avenue’s closure between Bond and Tumalo streets. These closures persisted for four hours as law enforcement worked to unravel the details surrounding the shooting.
