Dust Explosion Contained at Roseburg Products Facility in NW Medford

Earlier this evening, emergency response units from Medford Fire and Jackson County Fire District 3 swiftly tackled a reported structure fire at the Roseburg Products facility in northwest Medford. The incident, triggered by a dust explosion, resulted in a minor fire within a collection silo.

According to Medford Fire officials, the explosion occurred within a collection silo, causing a sizable blowout of its top. This silo is responsible for channeling product waste into a boiler for disposal. Fortunately, the fire remained confined to the silo itself, preventing any further damage to the facility.

Remarkably, there were no reported injuries as a result of the explosion and subsequent fire. The prompt response of the emergency units helped ensure the safety of all personnel on-site.

Upon successful extinguishing of the fire, the scene was handed over to the hands of the plant personnel. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of proper safety measures and protocols in industrial settings.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the dust explosion.
