ODF and JCFD3 Respond to Wildfire Near Eagle Point

The Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) and Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3) joined forces today to swiftly combat and extinguish a grassfire that erupted on Dahlia Terrace, northwest of Eagle Point. The fire, estimated to be approximately an acre in size, prompted a rapid response from firefighting teams.

Numerous engines, along with the deployment of Type 2 and Type 3 helicopters, as well as an ODF air attack plane, were promptly ordered to the scene to contain the blaze. Firefighters worked diligently and effectively, successfully knocking down and extinguishing the fire, ultimately halting its forward progress.

As of this time, no evacuations have been deemed necessary for nearby residents. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with authorities committed to determining its origin and preventing future incidents.

Firefighting efforts continue as responders remain on the scene. Crews are diligently working to dig a line around the perimeter of the burned area, ensuring the containment of any potential flare-ups. The meticulous mop-up process is also in progress, guaranteeing that all remaining hotspots are thoroughly extinguished.

The swift response and efficient collaboration of firefighting teams have minimized the impact of the grassfire, underscoring their dedication to protecting lives, property, and the surrounding environment.
