Morning Bear Creek Greenway Fire Quickly Extinguished

A small grass and brush fire was promptly extinguished on the Greenway today, thanks to the quick response of Jackson County Fire District #5 (JCFD5) and other local agencies. The incident was reported when smoke was spotted alongside the Greenway, prompting immediate action from the authorities.

The fire, located between Suncrest Road Talent and Blue Heron Park Phoenix, specifically at mile 14.4 on the Bear Creek Greenway, measured less than 1/10 acre and resulted in no damage. Thanks to the efficient response of the fire crews, the potential threat was contained and controlled in a timely manner.

Responding agencies included JCFD5, Phoenix, and Talent Police Departments, along with the Jackson County Sheriff’s office. Their coordinated efforts played a crucial role in preventing the escalation of the situation.

The following units were dispatched to the scene: 1 Engine, 2 Water Tenders, 1 Heavy Brush unit, 2 Brush Engines, and 2 Chief Officers, totaling 8 units in response.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, as authorities seek to determine the factors that led to its ignition. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and an estimate of the damage remains unavailable at this time.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of prompt action and collaborative efforts in tackling potential fire hazards, safeguarding both the environment and local communities.
