Earlier tonight, a multi-vehicle crash occurred on southbound I-5 near mile 32 at approximately 9:12 p.m. Oregon State Police, Jackson County Fire District 3, Central Point Police, and Mercy Flights all responded to the scene.

The crash had resulted in the closure of all southbound lanes for about 1.5 hours as debris and damaged vehicles are obstructing the freeway. To ensure the swift resolution of the situation, OSP requested tow trucks to expedite the removal of the debris and obstructing vehicles. Additionally, a 10-foot utility trailer had overturned on the roadway during the crash, adding to the complexities of the scene.
Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) initially estimated that the incident may cause delays of up to two hours. Commuters were advised to consider alternate routes and use available detours to navigate around the affected area. At this time, there is no available information regarding any injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities cleared the scene shortly before 11p and restored normal traffic flow in the area.
