I5 Wildfire Between Gold Hill and Rogue River Extinguished

A fire broke out earlier today along the north side of Interstate 5, near milepost 47 between Gold Hill and Rogue River. The incident was swiftly responded to by multiple firefighting agencies, including the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF), Jackson County Fire District #1, and Rural Metro Fire – Josephine County.

Thanks to the combined efforts of these agencies, the fire was successfully contained at 1.5 acres. However, the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Firefighters are diligently working to mop up the affected area, ensuring no remnants of the fire remain.

Given the ongoing cleanup operations, motorists are advised to exercise caution while driving in the vicinity of the incident. Fire crews will remain on the scene until the mop-up is complete.

Authorities say more information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
