ODF officials report they have crews on scene of a suspected lightning-caused fire in the hills east of Shady Cove.
Firefighters are estimating it to be half an acre and are putting in an aggressive initial attack. It’s currently burning in heavy timber.
At this time, there are no evacuation notices in place. No additional information was released by officials at this time.
6:05P Update: The fire located east of Shady Cove is now 100% lined, firefighters were able to catch it at three-quarters of an acre. Mop up operations are beginning. ODF is continuing to patrol for potential lightning-caused fires and have assigned firefighters and engines to stay on later tonight.
