Two Injured After Evening Multi-Vehicle I5 Crash in North Medford

This is an update to our previous article regarding this incident.

Medford Alert reached out to an Oregon State Police (OSP) representative regarding last nights I5 crashes and received additional information.

According to the official OSP incident report, the main crash was triggered after an orange Nissan 350z rear ended a gray Nissan 370z as that car was braking for merging I5 traffic near Exit 30 in North Medford.

The gray 370z then spun out and was disabled in one of the northbound I5 lanes. An approaching Yamaha motorcycle was unable to avoid the debris and collided with the disabled 370z.

Both motorcycle riders were transported to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) for minor injuries.

The two damaged Nissan’s were towed from the scene, along with the Yamaha motorcycle.

The crash closed all northbound lanes on I5 in the area for approximately 1 hour. Medford Police, Medford Fire, Mercy Flights, and ODOT also assisted OSP during this incident.

There were no reported injuries in the subsequent minor crashes in the area. Also, there were no reported injuries from those incidents as well.
