At approximately 1:25p today, multiple calls were placed into ECSO 911 for a reported vehicle vs motorcycle crash on OR238 near Forest Creek Rd in the Applegate area.
Radio traffic indicated that CPR was taking place by nearby individuals on one subject, prior to emergency crews arriving on scene.
Upon police arrival, the victim was pronounced deceased and the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team was activated to investigate the crash. A Jackson County medical examiner was also requested to the scene.
ODOT has units on scene assisting with vehicle congestion, as this crash is expected to impact traffic in the area for awhile. There are no local detours available, according to ODOT.
Applegate Valley Fire District, Oregon State Police, Oregon Department of Transportation, and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office all have personnel on scene.
