Interstate 5 Drivers Should Expect Delays in Glendale Area

Interstate 5 motorists should expect lane closures and congestion the next two months between Glendale and Azalea as paving work begins Sunday night, May 7.

Northbound traffic will be limited to a single lane Sunday night to Friday morning the next two weeks (May 7-12 and May 14-19). Southbound traffic will be limited to a single lane between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m., each Sunday night to Friday morning.

Paving will begin in the northbound direction and may require nighttime ramp closures at Azalea (Exit 88) the week of May 7-12. Motorists can also expect nighttime ramp closures at Barton Road (Exit 83) and Quines Creek (Exit 86) the week of May 14-19.

During nighttime ramp closures, motorists are advised to use alternate routes. Watch for detour signs and roadside message boards.

All paving work will take place at night (7 p.m. to 9 a.m.), though some travel lanes may remain closed during daytime.

As construction moves forward, ODOT will post updates at www.TripCheck.com. Additional details are available at the project website.
