Two Downtown Intersections Get Streamlined Today

Public Works crews will be removing the traffic signals at Main and Fir Streets and Main and Grape Streets.

Both signals will be replaced with a two-way-stop-control. Fir Street and Grape Street will have stop signs. Main Street traffic will have the right-of-way.

Following these changes, the signals on Main Street will be retimed to make sure they are timed appropriately for traffic and pedestrian crossing.

Removing these signals will help reduce delays for bicyclists, pedestrians and drivers as well as reduce maintenance costs.

Crews will be performing this work in the early morning, so traffic impacts are expected to be minimal.
