JCFD1 Responds to “Explosion” That Destroys Structure

On Friday, Jackson County Fire District (JCFD1) units responded to a report of an explosion in the 4400 block of Right Fork Sardine Creek Rd.

Crews arrived on scene to find a single wide structure fully involved threatening an exposure.

Firefighters immediately went into defensive attack, working from the exterior to extinguish the fire as well as protect the exposure.

The fire was eventually brought under control and crews overhauled the structure to ensure there were no hot spots.

Authorities say that the cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no reported injuries.

Jackson County Fire District 1 was assisted on scene by Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3) and Rural Metro Fire.
