Firefighters Save Puppy From Overnight RV Fire

At approximately 10:20p on Friday Night, Illinois Valley Fire District (IVFD), and AMR units responded to the 400 block of Schumacher Street for a reported RV fire.

Arriving units found a large RV fully involved. Two other structures were threatened. Firefighters began working the fire and ended up saving the surrounding structures by quick action.

Rural Metro Fire moved to IVFD station two to cover district while the fire scene was active.

It should be noted, there was also a puppy saved, according to IVFD information. The puppy was reunited with its family shortly later.

Schumacher Street was shut down during the firefight, but has since reopened.

Mop up is complete and all units are clear of the scene. There were no injuries and the fire is under investigation.
