Earlier today, at approximately 4:29p, Illinois Valley Fire Department (IVFD), Rural Metro Fire – Josephine County and ODOT, responded to mile 17, on Redwood Hwy, for a fully involved Recreational Vehicle fire. This incident took place south of the top of Hayes Hill.


Authorities say the vehicle had been abandoned in this location for several months.
During the fire fight, traffic control was handled by a Josephine County Animal Control Officer, who was there at the time of the incident.
The fire was extinguished in just under an hour.



There were no injuries and scene has been turned over to ODOT, with the lanes open for travel.
No additional information was released by authorities at this time.
