Suspect Outstanding After Shooting USPS Carrier

On 12/24/22 at approximately 12:40 PM, Milwaukie Officers responded to report of shots fired on SE 37th Ave. near SE Harvey St. in Milwaukie.

Officers contacted a USPS mail carrier in uniform who had been shot in the upper leg by what appeared to be a small caliber firearm. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

This shooting appears random, the suspect and victim do not know each other. The suspect is described as a white male with a gray hoody of unknown age and was driving a white Chevy or Ford model cargo van.

MPD Officers along with CCSO Deputies arrived in the area at 12:43 PM conducting an area search for the suspect but were unable to locate them. Investigators with the USPS are working with the Milwaukie Police on the incident.
