This is an update to our original article regarding this project.
On November 30th, City of Medford officials will hear a proposal for the construction of a new 4,947 square foot Chick-fil-A restaurant with dual drive thru lanes on a portion of a single parcel totaling approximately 5.44 acres.
The property is located within the Stewart Meadows Village Planned Unit Development at the northwest corner of Highway 99 and Garfield Street.

Traffic will enter the site from Garfield Street via a right-in/right-out driveway access located at the southwestern corner of the project site. No access to the project site will be provided from Anton Drive. The access drive will lead to a parking lot with two-way 24-foot-wide drive aisles that connect the restaurant building, parking areas, and other on-site amenities.
A total of 93 parking stalls will be providing, including 72 standard parking stalls, 14 compact stalls, and five ADA-accessible parking stalls (one of which will be van accessible). A total of 20 bicycle parking spaces, 50 percent covered, are proposed along the eastern extent of the restaurant building. Additional site improvements include parking, and landscaping improvements. There are also plans for an outside eating area for at least 16 guests.

The proposed restaurant building is designed with the intent to enhance commercial areas and to establish a pleasing visual brand identity, create an active, safe pedestrian environment, improve circulation, including options for pedestrians, bicycles and vehicles. Wall treatments such as brick, stucco, and aluminum provide variety along the facade. Wainscots, metal canopies and sconce wall lighting are provided and will complement adjacent buildings and development.
The project is designed to architecturally fit with the overall themes of the existing Stewart Meadows Village.
If approved, construction is expected to begin as early as Spring 2023.
